Innovative commodity market data analysis identified periodic US export market material dumping cycle below commodity market prices. Negotiated UK compounder deal to buy, process and store compounds. Global pricing soared, but forward purchase immediately provided cost savings and then protected against >30% price rises and likely financial disaster.
Delivered series of short-term supplier cost savings and rebates to rescue client’s budget year. Then embedded category management to drive sustainable procurement and supplier performance on lead-times, quality and innovation, plus >10% PA savings for each of next 3 years.
Client won consumables business for supply to high street supermarket chain on contracted cost savings delivery basis but could not achieve necessary savings. Devised sourcing strategy to deliver and beat savings target and thereby turn loss making account into healthy profit.
Bundled, tendered, and negotiated the company’s complete portfolio of fastenings, and sourced the automotive industry’s first direct line feed supply system through a distributor with global fastenings sourcing expertise. Groundbreaking lineside efficiencies, and >25% piece price savings were created.
E2E supplier to intermediary to customer business solution created in UK insurance sector. Leveraged carpet supplier base into sole source market leader at >10% savings, introduced new POS conversions boosting technology, and achieved customer lock-in with bleach cleanable carpet replacements.
Supported, trained, and facilitated for a UK MOD IPT in implementing category management and on developing and delivering category strategies in the sea platforms environment. Substantial savings implemented, and another equivalent sum identified ready for execution. Stock obsolescence reduced significantly.
Resourced up, trained, and led procurement team in realigning service and delivery to meet front of house sales team needs in marine spares and ‘at sea’ ship transfer business. Negotiated ship BIMCO contracts saving £5m (=20% of annual category spend).
Ran procurement issues diagnostic, recommended solutions, and assisted in their implementation. Wrote and delivered bespoke category management, negotiation, breakthrough and sourcing basics training courses to 100 strong procurement team. Rewrote and updated procurement processes and procedures manual using agile methodology.
Fully researched into and created B2C business model, and designed, sourced, installed and commissioned a nano-cask ale brewery plant and equipment. Built and negotiated materials supply chain and brewed and launched the beer onto the market in pouches and bottles.
Three Premier League football clubs projects (1) Created history, heritage and ground tour solution, (2) Created and implemented duty of care travel category solution for corporate, 1st team and academy staff; (3) Introduced category management and rationalised and contracted reduced costs preferred supplier base.
Delivered procurement diagnostics and opportunity assessments for the client’s existing portfolio of companies and did the same within the due diligence process for potential future acquisitions to support the acquisition or not decision-making process.
